Conservation grazing

Legacy Grazing offers a bespoke service to sites where grazing is required to help conserve wildlife, historic or landscape interest. Working collaboratively with the land manager, we provide a tailor-made grazing regime ensuring the right number of cattle or goats are present on site at the right times.

We adopt an evidence-based approach with monitoring integral to our success. Combining state of the art GPS technology - to track cattle activity - with ecological and livestock expertise to ensure habitats and cattle welfare are both in top condition.

We currently graze 550 hectares of land for partners including Essex County Council, Basildon Borough Council, Chelmsford City County, Colchester Borough Council and Hertfordshire Wildlife Trust. We are particularly adept at grazing land with open public access, supplying heritage grazing to a number of high-profile sites including Hylands Park and the Hadleigh Park Olympics Legacy.
